Starting from the ground up, we curated a branded workshop series for Seattle-based chocolatier, Jcoco, during the summer of 2018. What became the #TASTEJCOCO Summer Series was a set of monthly classes showcasing creative applications of Jcoco’s unique milk and dark chocolate bars.

With the goal of building brand awareness, we designed and produced three public workshops taught by local influencers: Chocolate Meets Mixology (Damon Bomar), Tart Design (Lauren Ko), and Savory Pasta Making (Linda Miller Nicholson). Our work included sourcing the influencer instructors, producing each workshop, and promoting the series through local bloggers and media outlets.

The Details

Jcoco's Tart Design workshop was taught by Lauren Ko, the pie mastermind behind Lokokitchen—an Instagram account that rocketed to over 200k followers in less than one year. Needless to say, the 24 workshop seats sold out in no time.

The workshop kicked off with a private tour of the Jcoco chocolate factory, followed by an introduction to the company by Jcoco’s brand manager. Lauren took over from there with a detailed demo of three different tart designs, all inspired by Jcoco’s chocolate flavors. With mini tarts as their canvases, guests put their paring knives to use, slicing and arranging fruit, nuts, and other toppings. Guests left the class with their own decorated tart along with a gift bags filled with a paring knife, 5” tart pan, and Jcoco chocolate to recreate the experience at home.

Cynthia executed a phenomenal workshop series on short notice with incredible detail, thoroughness and creativity. She found resourceful ways to create a fun environment for our guests and connected our brand with highly sought-after food & beverage influencers. Even as a perfectionist, I felt confident relinquishing control of this project to Hidden Rhythm, and I was not disappointed. Neither were those who attended!
