As a mission-driven company with a wide range of products for the home, Brandless was an incredible brand for which to design and produce an immersive influencer experience. From chef’s knives to chia seeds, their products are all $3. This is inspired by their belief in accessibility to quality products for all, and they’ve built their business model to support these values.

With these values in mind, we gathered 15 wellness and lifestyle influencers for an evening called Just What Matters. The event featured simple DIY stations highlighting culinary basics, along with a conversation-filled family-style dinner.

The primary goal of the activation was to deepen relationships with the Bay Area influencer community, specifically in the wellness and lifestyle space, as well as to attract new influencers to the brand. We helped Brandless achieve these goals through targeted influencer outreach, creative event design with integration of Brandless products, and full scale event production.

To introduce guests to Brandless’ products line, we created different interactive stations that took things back to (kitchen) basics. Using Brandless Santoku and chef’s knives, guests were treated to a Knife Skills 101 session by local culinary instructor Jess Lioon. Watermelon radish, cabbage, bell peppers, and other intimidating vegetables were masterfully chopped, sliced, and diced by the influencers.

Using the fresh produce they had just prepared, each influencer built their own Salad-in-a-Jar. Filled with Brandless beans, salad toppers and dressings, these were the perfect take-home treat for lunch the next day. Influencers enjoyed connecting with the brand and its mission in such a hands-on way—they couldn’t help but share their experience on social media.

Next, guests tucked into a seven course, family-style dinner, developed and executed by local chef Katherine Knowlton. The menu carefully catered to different dietary preferences while still highlighting the delicious breadth of the Brandless pantry.  The curated menu was built around sweet and savory Brandless products along with fresh, locally sourced produce. Menu highlights include:

  • Garam Masala Hummus

  • Wild Mushroom, Bell Pepper and Caramelized Onion Pizza

  • Gigli Pasta with Roasted Butternut Squash and Crispy Pancetta

  • Spicy Lamb Meatballs in Sugo

To finish, each influencer garnished their own Creamy Coconut Chia Pudding at the DIY dessert station using Brandless granola, seeds, dried fruits and nut butters.

Lastly, Brandless reinforced their mission to do good for all with a surprise. Hidden under each guest’s dinner plate was a card which explained that 100 meals would be donated to Feeding America in the influencer’s honor. This do-good, feel-good detail resonated with the influencers and brought them closer to understanding Brandless’ mission and values.
