THE GOALS

Artisan oil company La Tourangelle makes products that inspire people to cook, create, and unleash their inner chef. So when they came to us to launch their new range of organic salad dressings, we couldn’t wait to bring their mission to life.

Having worked with the brand previously, we understood their dedication to excellence and commitment to taste. As with their oils, their brand new Citrus Chipotle, Classic Balsamic and Sesame Tamari dressings didn’t disappoint!

For inspiration, we drew from the company’s rich French heritage as well as its new California roots. We re-invented the classic American salad bar paired with a French twist—enter La Tourangelle’s Salon de Salade. We invited 15 culinary and wellness influencers to an intimate experiential dinner that focused on the application and taste of La Tourangelle’s newly released dressings.

Through our targeted influencer outreach and experiential design & production, La Tourangelle was able to introduce their new organic salad dressings to influencers in the Bay Area who would spread the word with their audience.

THE DETAILS

Hidden Rhythm Experiential Marketing - La Tourangelle Influencer Dinner

The evening kicked off with classic French cocktails—Kir Royales and French 75s. While sipping their aperitifs, the influencer guests learned about La Tourangelle and its range of products, old and new.

Building on the theme of Salon de Salade, we created an interactive salad station. We designed and built a custom wall-mounted installation featuring La Tourangelle’s organic dressings, along with the oils and natural ingredients that inspired them. The salad station served as a photo backdrop for many of the Instagram stories that guests shared with their followers. It was also an opportunity to showcase the organic salad greens provided by Earthbound Farm, La Tourangelle’s event partner.

For their first course, guests were invited to assemble their own salad, created around the new dressings. To inspire guests to get creative, we partnered with three influencer “guest chefs” prior to the event. Each guest chef received the new dressings in advance and created a recipe using their favorite pick.

Food stylist and recipe developer Rezel Kealoha crafted her salad around the Sesame Tamari dressing. Rezel’s recipe tied back to her Filipino roots and one of her favorite local dishes called Silog. Rezel used roasted eggplant, and cauliflower rice instead of regular fried rice. These ingredients were mixed with Earthbound Farms’ Asian Greens along with green beans, tomatoes and green onions.

Lyana Begret of @healthymoodsf recreated her favorite mid-week lunch using La Tourangelle’s Classic Balsamic vinaigrette. Her recipe included chickpeas, radishes, apple and avocado. Tossed with Earthbound Farm’s Spring Mix, the salad was garnished with chopped Italian parsley and hemp seeds.

Finally, photographer and recipe developer Bella Karragiannidis got creative with La Tourangelle’s Citrus Chipotle dressing. She focused on seasonal ingredients such as mandarin oranges and sweet potato, which she marinated in the dressing before roasting. Paired with chickpeas, avocado, red onion and queso fresco, Bella’s salad sat on top of a bed of Earthbound Farm’s Spring Mix.

To encourage guests to share their work of salad art, we set up a food styling station complete with linens, props, and food photography lights. Guests photographed and shared their salads on their social channels using the #salondesalade hashtag.

DINNER

As guests sat down to enjoy their first course, La Tourangelle’s Founder & CEO Matthieu Kohlmeyer welcomed the group. He talked about the history of the company, its inspiration for the new dressings, and vision going forward.

Dinner continued with a French-inspired menu served family-style. Developed and executed by local chef Katherine Knowlton, each dish creatively incorporated La Tourangelle’s dressings and oils. Menu highlights include:

  • Roasted Radishes with Radish Greens using La Tourangelle Avocado Oil

  • Charred Haricots Verts & Roasted Beets featuring La Tourangelle Hazelnut Oil

  • Wild Mushroom Fricassee made with La Tourangelle Walnut Oil

  • Grilled Flank Steak using La Tourangelle Classic Balsamic vinaigrette

  • Seared Sea Scallops featuring La Tourangelle Citrus Chipotle vinaigrette


Finishing in typical French style, guests enjoyed a Chocolate Pot de Creme made with La Tourangelle’s Coconut Oil. This vegan treat was a crowd favorite, with many influencers asking for the recipe following the event!

THE RESULTS

It’s been said that cooking and eating with others builds lasting relationships and that’s exactly what happened at Salon de Salade. As the evening drew to a close, La Tourangelle gained new connections and stronger ties to their influencer community. They also left with the custom salad installation, which they plan to use at trade shows and future events!

Following the event, we shared an event recap with La Tourangelle which included social analytics, influencer survey results, and suggested influencer collaboration opportunities.
